This policy applies to orders placed directly at veilbathvanity.com. If you bought one of our products through another retailer or marketplace, please start your return with that seller — their return procedures apply to that purchase, and they will direct you to us if supplier support is needed.
Bathroom vanities are large, heavy, and fragile. Most return problems with freight items come from three things: damage that was not noted at delivery, packaging that was thrown away too early, and returns shipped before approval. This policy is written to protect you on all three — please read the deadlines below first, and keep every carton, crate, and insert until your return or claim is fully resolved. For how deliveries and delivery-day inspection work, see our Shipping & Delivery Policy.
Deadlines at a glance
- Visible freight damage: note it on the delivery receipt before signing, photograph it while the driver is present, and contact us the same day.
- Concealed freight damage: unpack promptly and report with photographs within 48 hours of delivery. Freight carriers decide damage claims on this window, and late claims may be denied by the carrier.
- Buyer's (change-of-mind) return: request authorization within 90 days of delivery — the same return standard our suppliers apply to these vanities on Home Depot.
- Manufacturing defect found within 90 days: contact us for review — repair, replacement part, replacement product, or refund, as appropriate.
- Manufacturing defect found after 90 days: handled under the warranty stated on that product's page (supplier warranties vary by model — some are one year, some are limited lifetime, and each product page states the term that applies to that model).
- Cancellation: request before the order ships. Once an order has shipped, it cannot be cancelled or changed.
Return eligibility
All returns require prior approval and a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number issued by our customer care team. To qualify for a buyer's return, the product must:
- have been delivered within the previous 90 days;
- be unused, uninstalled, unassembled, and unmodified;
- be complete, with all doors, drawers, shelves, hardware, countertop, sink, backsplash, and paperwork originally included;
- be in its original packaging and crating materials, with all inserts and protective materials in place; and
- be repackaged exactly as received, with no writing and no shipping labels placed directly on the original packaging.
Returns sent without an approved RMA may be refused at delivery and returned to the sender at the sender's cost. Products that arrive back installed, used, damaged through repackaging, or missing parts may receive a partial refund reflecting the diminished value, or may be refused where the condition makes resale impossible.
Buyer's returns and the costs involved
If you change your mind, ordered the wrong size or finish, measured incorrectly, or refuse an undamaged shipment after dispatch, the following applies:
- Return shipping is your responsibility. A vanity travels as freight, not as a parcel — return freight for a large vanity can be substantial. We strongly recommend insured freight with active tracking, and we are not responsible for items lost or damaged in return transit arranged by you.
- If we arrange the return carrier for you, the actual return freight charge is deducted from your refund, and we will tell you the amount before you confirm.
- Original outbound shipping charges are non-refundable.
- There is no restocking fee on standard, in-stock vanities. If a product page ever identifies an item as special-order, a restocking term stated on that page at the time of purchase applies instead.
- A refused undamaged shipment is processed as a buyer's return on the terms above.
Items that cannot be returned
- Installed, assembled, used, altered, painted, drilled, plumbed, or otherwise modified products;
- Products returned without their original packaging and crating materials;
- Custom or made-to-order products;
- Products identified as final sale at the time of purchase, except where the product has an undisclosed manufacturing defect;
- Damage caused by installation, handling after delivery, misuse, normal wear, sunlight, humidity, standing water, or improper care;
- Countertops or stone pieces cracked or chipped after a signed, undamaged delivery and outside the 48-hour concealed-damage window, except as a warranty claim where the evidence shows a manufacturing defect.
Sale and clearance products
Sale and clearance products follow the same 90-day buyer's return terms unless the product page stated final-sale terms at the time of purchase. Products sold as-is, scratch-and-dent, floor model, or final clearance are returnable only for conditions that were not disclosed before purchase. Any additional written terms provided with such a sale control over this section for that order.
Freight damage — read this before your delivery arrives
Visible damage
Inspect the shipment before signing anything. Count every carton, look over the pallet, cartons, crates, and every visible product surface. If anything is damaged or missing: write the exact damage or shortage on the delivery receipt (for example, "corner of countertop cracked" — not just "damaged"), take clear photographs while the driver is present, refuse any severely damaged piece and write "refused due to damage", and accept the undamaged pieces when the carrier can separate them. Then contact us the same day through our Contact page with your order number and the photographs. A damage note on the receipt is the single most important piece of evidence a freight claim has — a clean signature can make a carrier claim impossible even when the damage is real.
Concealed damage
Damage hidden inside intact packaging must be reported with photographs within 48 hours of delivery. Unpack every item promptly — do not leave a vanity crated until installation day weeks later. Keep the product, cartons, crates, inserts, and all other packaging until the claim is resolved; the carrier may require inspection of both the product and its packaging. Where a claim is accepted, we will arrange a repair, replacement part, replacement, or refund at no cost to you, including freight. Claims submitted after 48 hours may be denied by the carrier; where a carrier claim is denied, we will still review the case with the supplier and tell you honestly what options remain.
Wrong item or missing part
If we shipped the wrong item, the wrong size or finish, or a component, hardware pack, shelf, or part is missing, contact us with your order number and photographs of the item, its labels, and its packaging. Once verified, we will ship the correct item or the missing part at no additional product or standard shipping cost, and arrange return of any wrong item at our cost where a return is needed.
Manufacturing defects and warranty claims
A manufacturing defect is a flaw in materials or workmanship that existed when the product left the factory — for example, a door that was drilled incorrectly, a drawer slide that fails under normal use, a finish that peels without chemical or water misuse, or a countertop defect that is not natural stone variation. Natural variation in wood grain, finish tone, and stone veining is a characteristic of these materials, not a defect, and neither are installation damage, normal wear, or damage from humidity, standing water, or improper care.
Defects reported within 90 days of delivery will be reviewed for a replacement part, replacement product, repair, or return, as appropriate. Defects discovered after 90 days may be covered by the warranty stated on the product's page; to claim, contact us through our Contact page with your order number, the product name and size, a description of the defect, and clear photographs (and a short video for moving parts such as hinges and drawer slides, where relevant). Because our vanities are supplied by the same manufacturers who sell them through Home Depot, some claims are routed to the supplier for assessment; we will manage that process with you and keep you updated, rather than asking you to chase the supplier yourself.
How to request a return — step by step
- Contact us through our Contact page within the applicable deadline above.
- Provide your order number, the product name, size, and finish, the reason for the return, and photographs when requested.
- Wait for the written RMA and the return instructions before shipping anything. The RMA tells you which carrier to use, where the shipment goes, and how it must be labelled.
- Repackage the product exactly as received — original cartons and crating, all inserts, countertop protected face-to-face with its original padding, hardware bagged inside the cabinet — and release it only to the approved carrier.
- Keep your return tracking or freight bill of lading until your refund is complete.
Cancellations and order changes
Orders may be cancelled for a full refund at any time before shipment. Contact us as early as possible — processing begins quickly. Once an order has shipped, it cannot be cancelled or changed; a refused undamaged shipment is processed as a buyer's return. If we cannot fulfill an order — for example, because of a stock or pricing error — we will notify you and refund any payment in full.
Refund timing and method
Returned products are inspected after they arrive at the destination given in your RMA. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method, less any applicable return freight described above, generally within 5–10 business days after approval. Your bank or card issuer may require additional time to post the credit to your account. Refunds cannot be issued to a different card or account than the one used for the purchase. Where only part of an order is returned, only that part is refunded. If an inspection finds the returned product installed, used, incomplete, or damaged beyond the reported issue, we will contact you with photographs and the adjusted outcome before processing.
Exchanges
If you need a different size or finish, we process the change as a return under this policy plus a new order for the replacement. This keeps tracking, delivery appointments, and warranty records clean for both shipments, and the new order ships on its own normal schedule rather than waiting for the return to travel back.
