24 Vanity Dimensions and Clearance

A 24 inch vanity sounds small, but its depth, height, and faucet holes still decide if it fits your room. So start with the real numbers, not a guess. For the wider picture, read our 24 inch bathroom vanity guide first if you have not picked a size yet.

Extra numbers that change the fit

Faucet line and basin centre

Next, the faucet line tells you how far back the tap sits from the front of the basin. Korra 24 measures 7 in (177 mm) from the faucet line to the basin front. Huckleberry 24 measures 9 3/16 in (234 mm) for the same distance. The 22 in deep model measures 8 1/4 in (209 mm) for the same distance. Beaufort 24 does not have a confirmed number here, so check the product page for that model.

Here's why this number helps you: a shorter distance puts the tap closer to your hands.

Korra 24 also gives you a basin centre of 12 in (305 mm) to each side. Korra 24 also has a setback of 1 1/2 in (39 mm) from the faucet line to the back edge.

Sink cutout width is confirmed for one model only: the 22 in deep model, at 17 7/16 in. All other models say check the product page for this number.

Kick space, shelf, and side height

Also, Korra 24 has a base opening height of 9 5/8 in (245 mm). Beaufort 24 has a base opening height of 9 1/8 in (232 mm). So both leave room under the base, but Korra 24 leaves a little more. Huckleberry 24 is different here. It has a lower shelf 13 1/4 in from the floor. Call it a lower shelf, not a kick opening.

Still, Beaufort 24 has a cabinet side height of 20 3/16 in (512 mm) for the cabinet box itself. The 22 in deep model does not have a confirmed base opening height here, so check the product page for that number.

One Korra number to check twice

However, Korra 24 needs one extra check, so read this part with care. Its top depth is 19 in, but its bottom width in the side view is 19 5/8 in (500 mm). Those two numbers differ. So confirm the overall depth on the product page before you order. Instead, plan with the larger side-view number.

Fit check for 4 ft, 5 ft, and 6 ft walls

Wall length decides how much room stays beside the vanity. So test your wall against the three lengths below.

A 4 ft wall measures 48 in long. On that wall, a 24 in vanity leaves 24 in of total side space, so it can work, but it leaves little spare room.

A 5 ft wall measures 60 in long. A 24 in vanity leaves 36 in of total side space on that wall. That gives you more room than a 4 ft wall. Still, measure the toilet position too. The toilet centreline needs at least 15 in from a side wall or cabinet, and about 21 in of clear space in front of it. So check your local building code for the exact rule in your area.

A 6 ft wall measures 72 in long. A 24 in vanity leaves 48 in of total side space on that wall. That is the easiest fit of the three. But a long wall does not fix a bad door swing or a tight walkway.

So read our 24 inch vanity for a powder room if your room is tight.

Clearance you still need around it

So, toilet clearance comes first in a small bath. The toilet centreline needs at least 15 in from a side wall or cabinet, and about 21 in of clear space in front of it. So measure from the centre of the toilet, not from its edge. Also, check your local building code.

Door swing comes next. Open the door fully and watch where it stops. If it hits the vanity doors or the legs, plan a different swing. So test the swing before you buy.

Next, wall studs matter most if you plan to fix anything to the wall, such as a mirror or a light. Find the studs with a stud finder, and mark them with tape. That said, these four models stand on the floor.

Also, rough-in, supply lines, drain assembly, and P-trap form the plumbing group you must check. Rough-in tells you where the pipes come out. Supply lines bring hot and cold water to the tap. The drain assembly carries water away from the basin, and the P-trap sits under the basin to block drain smells. So ask your plumber to check all four points. A toe kick is the recessed space at the bottom of a base cabinet.

Your measurement checklist

Work through these steps in order.

Measure the wall length, from corner to corner.

Test the full door swing on the floor with tape.

Mark the toilet centreline: 15 in to each side, 21 in clear in front.

Check your local building code for the toilet clearance rule.

Measure the depth you can spare in front: 19 in or 22 in.

Find the wall studs, and mark them for the mirror.

Check the rough-in point against the basin drain position.

Check the supply lines reach the tap position without strain.

Check the drain assembly and P-trap space under the basin.

Measure the toe kick or base opening height for cleaning.

Check the overall height against your mirror and light height.

Read the product page again, and confirm every open number.

When not to buy a 24 inch vanity

Do not buy a 24 inch vanity if two people need to use the sink at the same time each morning. One basin and 24 in of width will feel tight for two people. Also, do not buy one if your wall is long and empty, and you want lots of counter space and storage.

Here's the honest limitation: a 24 inch vanity trades counter space for a small footprint. So it suits a tight room, but it can feel small in a large room. For a powder room, I'd pick a 19 in deep model before the 22 in deep model, because it leaves more floor space in front of the sink.

Also, do not buy the 22 in deep model if your walkway is already narrow. Instead, pick a 19 in deep model.

You can see all four models on the 24 inch bathroom vanity collection page.

Frequently asked questions

How wide is a 24 inch vanity, and how deep is it?

A 24 inch vanity in this category is 24 in wide. But depth differs by model. Three models here are 19 in deep, and one model is 22 in deep. So check the table row for your model, then measure the floor space you can spare.

What faucet holes do these 24 inch vanities use?

All four models here use 3 holes in a 4 in centerset pattern, with holes 4 in apart, centre to centre. So shop for a centerset tap, not a widespread tap. But hole size still differs, so check the product page for Korra 24 and the 22 in deep model.

How much wall space do you need beside a 24 inch vanity?

A 4 ft wall leaves 24 in, a 5 ft wall leaves 36 in, and a 6 ft wall leaves 48 in of total side space. But the toilet still needs at least 15 in from the centreline to a side wall or cabinet and about 21 in clear in front. So check your local building code first.

Why does Korra 24 list two different depth numbers?

Korra 24 lists a top depth of 19 in and a bottom width of 19 5/8 in (500 mm) in the side view. Those numbers measure two different parts of the cabinet. But the gap matters if your wall space is tight. So confirm the overall depth on the product page before you order.

Can a 24 inch vanity fit a small powder room?

Yes, in many cases it can, because 24 in of width leaves room for a toilet and a door swing in a tight room. But depth still matters, so a 19 in deep model leaves more floor space than a 22 in deep model. Also, check the toilet clearance and the door swing on paper first.
